Breve for macOS Tahoe

Your day, one click from the menu bar.

Breve is a menu bar companion for Apple Calendar. It counts down to your next meeting, joins the call in one click, shows your week at a glance and adds events the way you'd say them.

Up next

Your next meeting, always in view.

Breve can put the next meeting and a countdown right in the menu bar. Open it and the Up next card has a Join button: Zoom and Microsoft Teams open straight in their Mac apps, everything else in your browser. Press ⌘J to join without reaching for the mouse.

Notifications

A nudge, then you're in.

Get a notification when a call starts, or a few minutes before. The Join button is right on the banner, so the link you'd normally dig out of an invite is one click away, whatever you're in the middle of.

Day at a glance

See the shape of your week.

Every day in the week ribbon has a little bar of its events from 07:00 to 22:00, so busy days and quiet ones stand out before you read a word. Prefer months? Switch to one or two month grids.

The agenda shows the gaps too, like 1 h 30 min free. Click any event for its details, to open it in Calendar or to delete it.

Quick-add

Type it like you'd say it.

Write an event in plain English or Portuguese. Before you press Return, Breve shows where it lands and whether it fits: Overlaps Roadmap sync, or Free — next is 1:1 with Sam at 16:30.

  • lunch with Ana friday 1pm at Prado #personal
  • standup 3-4pm
  • focus block for 45 min

Questions

Which calendars does Breve work with?

Any calendar you've added to Apple Calendar on your Mac: iCloud, Google, Microsoft Exchange and Outlook, Yahoo, CalDAV and subscribed calendars. Breve reads and writes them through macOS, so there's nothing new to sign in to.

Which video calls can I join?

Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, FaceTime, Slack huddles, Jitsi and Whereby. Breve finds the link in the event's location, notes or URL, and opens Zoom and Teams straight in their Mac apps when you have them.

Is my calendar data private?

Yes. Breve is sandboxed and only asks for calendar access. It has no account, no servers and no analytics; your events never leave your Mac.

What does quick-add understand?

Plain English and Portuguese: days like "tomorrow" or "24 Oct", times like "3pm" or "15h30", ranges like "3-4pm", durations like "for 45 min", places after "at" or "@", and a calendar after "#". Before you press Return it shows where the event lands and whether it clashes with anything.

Is it a subscription?

No. Breve is a one-time purchase, with updates included.

Should I buy it here or on the Mac App Store?

It's the same app either way. Buying here supports the developer directly; the Mac App Store handles installs and updates for you.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac running macOS 26 Tahoe or later, Apple silicon or Intel.

Put your day in the menu bar.
